Clem was a farmer in New Paris, Ohio area. Jane's book reported in 1990 that "he and his family raised a large dairy herd and recently sold the cattle to retire." Clem died of cancer at Ried Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

Clement G. Toschlog

Clement G. Toschlog, 82, of New Paris-Twin Road, New Paris, died Wednesday, May 24, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., after an extended illness.

Born Nov. 23, 1917, in Wayne County, Ind., he was the son of the late John B. and Laura L. (Austerman) Toschlog. He was a 1935 graduate of Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. Mr.
Toschlog had worked for Wayne Works in Richmond, Ind., and retired in 1983 as a Jefferson Township dairy farmer. He was a member of the Preble County Farm Bureau and St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Greg Toschlog, in 1972.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lucille D. (Nocton) Toschlog; sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Jeri L. Toschlog, Dale E. and Elizabeth Toschlog, John B. and Laura A. Toschlog, all of New Paris, C. Eugene and Pamela Toschlog of Richmond, Ind. a daughter, Patricia M. Toschlog Zadik of New Paris; sisters, Rosemary Quesenberry of Eaton, Anna Mae Petry of Eldorado and Alice Petry of Camden; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was Saturday, May 27, at St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris, with the Rev. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial, with full military graveside services by the Preble County Honor Guard, was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris. A Rosary service was conducted during visitation on Friday. Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or to Seton High School Building Fund, Richmond, Ind.
